Director Andrés Muschietti has shared his ambitious three-season plan for Welcome to Derry, which reveals the origins of the iconic character Pennywise. The series, which will appear on Max in 2025, is set 27 years before the events of the first It film and explores the dark and mysterious moments in the history of the city of Derry.

Here's What We Know

In his interview, Muschietti explained that each season will focus on the catastrophic events that accompany the awakening of Pennywise. The first season will take place in 1962, the second in 1935, and the third in 1908.

And actor Bill Skarsgård will return to the role of Pennywise.

So far, Welcome to Derry has no exact release date, but we expect it to premiere this year.
