The gaming industry has faced difficulties in recent years, but PC games have become a bright spot amid a general slowdown in revenue growth. According to a new report by Epyllion, PC games now generate more revenue than console games.

Here's What We Know

Between 2011 and 2021, both PC and console gaming experienced strong growth, with total consumer spending increasing by nearly $50 billion. However, since 2021, the growth rate of console games has slowed. Sales of new consoles, such as the Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5, are lagging behind previous generations by around 7 million units.

In contrast, PC games continue to thrive, with revenues up 20% since 2021. This is due to several factors, such as a wide selection of games and backwards compatibility.

Thanks to the reappearance of former console exclusives on PC and the development of portable gaming devices such as SteamOS, the platform's appeal is only growing.
