Another iconic strategy game is getting a remaster: Firefly Studios has announced Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition
After the release of the stunning remaster of the cult strategy game Stronghold, which took place in autumn 2023 (sales recently exceeded 500 thousand copies), many gamers had only one question: will Firefly studio release a similar re-release of Stronghold: Crusader - a standalone game, which is a continuation of the first part, but takes players not to Medieval England, but to the Middle East during the Crusades.
Today we got the answer to this question.
Here's What We Know
Firefly Studios officially announced Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition!
It will be the same remaster as the first part of Stronghold: the developers will slightly update the graphics, improve the quality of textures, adapt the interface to modern monitors, improve compatibility with current computers, update the models of some units and buildings and re-record the voice acting.
In addition, gamers can expect brand new content in the remaster, including:
- 8 new troop types;
- 4 new opponents;
- larger maps;
- a new story campaign and additional challenges;
- co-operative challenges.

When We Can Expect It
Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition will be released on 15 July 2025 only on Steam.
