The fight against Demons will continue: DOOM: The Dark Ages will not be the last game in the series.
DOOM is one of the most iconic and well-known video game franchises.
The first game was released back in 1991 and became not only a technological breakthrough, but also a cultural phenomenon that forever changed the perception of video games.
On the 15th of May the release of the new shooter DOOM: The Dark Ages will take place, which will change the vector of development of the series, but keep the usual brutality and dynamic gameplay. Studio id Software invested a lot in this project and fans of the series can not but be happy that the game of 2025 will not be the last.
Here's What We Know
Creative director of id Software Hugo Martin gave an interview to PC Gamer, in which he directly said that DOOM: The Dark Ages will not be the last part of the series - the famous American company is already planning the next project.
It's not the end of anything. We are concentrating on DOOM: The Dark Ages right now, but this game will definitely not be the point.
Showing gameplay of DOOM: The Dark Ages at Xbox Games Showcase made a positive impression on gamers and confirmed that after more than thirty years (!) the shooter about the destruction of bloodthirsty demons can still surprise.
As we already know, there will be no multiplayer elements in the new game, as the developers have fully focused on the single-player experience.
