It's official: Story Kitchen is filming a film adaptation of Sleeping Dogs - starring a Marvel movie star in the lead role

A few days ago in the network spread information that the film adaptation of the cult game Sleeping Dogs (2012), which was announced back in 2017, has been cancelled. But this information is not quite correct.
Here's What We Know
Yesterday, the star of the film "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) Simu Liu defiantly expressed regret about the cancellation of Sleeping Dogs and hinted that he would not only like to play the main role in it, but also to see a full sequel to the crime action.
Now everything is back on track. In the exclusive material IGN representatives of the film company Story Kitchen, which specialises in screen adaptations of famous games, reported that they are now engaged in the creation of the film, and the main star in it will be Simu Liu.
Work on the film is already underway, the team already has a scriptwriter and director, but the process is at an early stage, so it's too early to even talk about the timing of the premiere of Sleeping Dogs.
By the way, representatives of Square Enix publishing house, which supervised the development of the game and planned to develop the franchise, are also involved in the filming process.
So few film projects make it from pitch phase to greenlight. Pitching execs who don't understand the game has been tiring. Everyone's overwhelming love of Sleeping Dogs here has really given us life!

Flashback
Sleeping Dogs is a dynamic crime action game similar in concept to GTA. The protagonist of the game is a police officer Wei Shen, who goes undercover to infiltrate the Hong Kong Triads and has to undermine organised crime from within.
Despite an excellent combat system based on Eastern martial arts, Sleeping Dogs didn't get much popularity, but it left its mark on the gaming industry.
