In the second season of The Last of Us, Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever, will have a less muscular physique compared to her character in The Last of Us Part II. The showrunners of the project, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, explained that they are more interested in conveying the essence of the character than in its physical resemblance to the original.

Here's What We Know

In the video game, Abby is known for her big muscles, which emphasises her strength and endurance. However, the series will focus on the dramatic component rather than physical performance.

Druckmann said: "In the game, Abby was created to physically handle certain things. That doesn't play as big a role in this version of the story because there's less moment-to-moment violence. We're more focused on the drama."

Mezin added that the less muscular version of Abby opens up opportunities for a deeper exploration of her character: "There's an amazing opportunity to delve into someone who is maybe physically more vulnerable, but whose spirit is stronger. And then the question is, where does her fearsome nature come from and how does it manifest itself? That's something that will be explored now and later."

The second season of The Last of Us will continue the story five years after the events of the first season, and is scheduled to premiere in April on HBO Max.
