Nintendo stops a fan film based on The Legend of Zelda: the project managed to raise $24 thousand on Kickstarter

Nintendo is known for its strict policy on intellectual property protection, and another confirmation of this was the termination of production of the fan film Lost in Hyrule based on The Legend of Zelda series. The project, initiated by director and actor Chris Carpenter, raised about $24,000 on the Kickstarter platform before attracting the attention of the Japanese giant.
Here's What We Know
The film was planned as a continuation of the events of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, completing Link's story. Carpenter himself was supposed to play the lead role, and actress Avi Lake, known for the TV series Lemony Snicket: 33 Misfortunes, was cast as Princess Zelda. However, after Nintendo's intervention, the Kickstarter campaign was suspended and the project was closed.
This is not the first time Nintendo has shut down fan initiatives. The company has previously stopped projects related to its franchises, even if they had no commercial purpose. It is worth noting that Nintendo itself is working on the official adaptation of The Legend of Zelda in cooperation with Sony Pictures, directed by Wes Ball, known for the film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. However, there have been no new details about this film for a long time.
