Valve released global update 7.38 for Dota 2, which changed most elements of the game.

Here's What We Know

Patch 7.38 is subtitled "Wandering Waters" (Wandering Waters) and most of its innovations are related to the river. Now water flows not only in the centre of the map, but also on the side of the top and bottom lines.

The game has new mechanics that speeds up the character's movement if he moves along the river current, but does not slow down if he goes against it.

The developers added four new types of neutral creeps, which reflect the evolutionary path of underwater creatures: from small mollusks to powerful Ancient Creeps.

Valve has significantly changed the map landscape, relocated Roshan's lair, revised the mechanics of Tormentor appearing on different sides of the map, and replaced Wisdom Runes with Shrines of Wisdom. Neutral items are no longer bought with tokens, and to get them you need to collect enough units of the special resource Madstone, which is given for clearing forest camps.

Of course, a lot of artefacts have been added, abilities and characteristics of most characters have been changed, and new symbols have appeared in the game interface.

The full list of changes in patch 7.38 is available on the Dota 2 website or directly in the game.
