The US Air Force and Parsons will equip the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) with a directed energy weapon (laser) to defuse explosive ordnance.

Here's What We Know

The US Air Force is partnering with Parsons to equip the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) with the Zeus 4 laser bomb disposal system.

This initiative is part of the modernisation programme of the Recovered Air Base Operational Capability (RADBO), which involves the use of vehicles with laser technology to neutralise unexploded ordnance.

Parsons will supply its Zeus 4 system, a high-energy laser weapon capable of neutralising up to 50 types of munitions, including landmines and general-purpose bombs.
