Fallout 76 may feature cross-play, developers say, but it won't happen anytime soon

Along with the release of Fallout 76' s major update - Season 20: Glow of the Ghoul, Creative Director Jon Rush shared his thoughts on the game's success and the possibility of introducing cross-platform multiplayer.
Here's What We Know
In an interview with WCCFTech, he noted that after the release of the Fallout series from Amazon, interest in the franchise has grown significantly. Players are not only actively returning to Fallout 76, but also play through Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 again. According to Rush, the online shooter remains popular and is developing steadily. The studio has many ideas for the game's future, and it has no plans to stop supporting it.
Regarding crossplay, Rush admitted that this feature was discussed within the company, but its implementation is associated with technical difficulties. He does not rule out this possibility in the future, but advises players not to expect it in the near future.
The Glow of the Ghoul update adds the ability to turn into a ghoul, new radioactive waste-style decorative items for C.A.M.P., and seasonal events, including Photo Mode contests, double experience, and Big Bloom in May.
Where To Play
The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and is also supported on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series via backwards compatibility.
