The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been replenished with new F-16 fighters, which arrived as part of international military assistance. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a Zoom briefing for journalists, Yevropeiska Pravda reports.

Here's What We Know

The head of state did not specify how many aircraft were included in the new batch, but stressed that this is an important reinforcement for the Air Force of Ukraine. Also, according to him, the Russians' statements about the alleged destruction of these aircraft are not true.

It has not yet been disclosed from which country the fighters came. It is known that Denmark previously handed over 12 of the 19 promised F-16s to Ukraine. Also in early February, Ukraine received a second batch of these fighters from the Netherlands, which pledged to provide 24 aircraft in total.

Denmark and the Netherlands lead an international coalition of fighter jets, within which Ukrainian pilots and technicians are trained to operate F-16s.

Meanwhile, Belgium has postponed the transfer of its F-16s to Ukraine for at least a year due to delays in the delivery of new F-35s. Earlier, the Belgian government planned to transfer 30 fighter jets, which were expected to be completed by 2028.
