Chinese company Xgimi has launched two new portable projectors Play 6 and Play 6e, which combine minimalistic design and modern functionality.

Here's What We Know

Both devices feature a compact design, with the Play 6 being honoured with the iF Design Award 2025 for its sophisticated minimalist look. The projectors have a built-in 360-degree stabiliser that makes it easy to adjust the image.

The new products deliver up to 600 CVIA lumens, support 1080p resolution and play back content in 2K and 4K. Projection ratios of 1.21:1 for Play 6 and 1.2:1 for Play 6e allow them to be used in small rooms. The Play 6 has a 20,000 mAh battery that allows you to watch films for up to 2.5 hours, while the Play 6e only runs on external power. Both devices can be used as Bluetooth speakers with spectacular backlighting.

Project sound is provided by Harman Kardon on the Play 6 and Xgimi Sound on the Play 6e. The devices support HDR10, MEMC and wireless streaming via AirPlay and DLNA. Several connectivity options are also available, which include HDMI (eARC), USB and Type-C ports, and are supported by dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.1.

The Play 6 and Play 6e projectors are already available for purchase in China for around $290 and $250 respectively.
