The potential postponement of GTA VI could be a disaster for the video game industry - studios do not want to compete with Rockstar's project and are postponing the release dates of their games

Despite the fact that Grand Theft Auto 6 has no official release date, it is assumed that the game will be released in October this year. This game is so large-scale that no publisher wants to compete with it, and many studios are closely monitoring any changes in its release schedule.
Here's What We Know
During GDC in San Francisco, Newzoo senior consultant Ben Foster suggested that the potential postponement of GTA 6 could be a serious blow to some companies. He noted that developers waiting for the official confirmation of the release date may find themselves in a difficult position if the game is postponed for several months.
According to him, the studio will either have to step into the "black hole" left by Rockstar's delayed release or find financial resources to extend development, which could be fatal for many.
Foster also stressed that although the release of GTA 6 will draw investors' attention to the gaming market, it will not be a panacea for the entire industry. Some studios are already adjusting their plans, fearing that their projects may be lost against the backdrop of Rockstar's grand release.
