11 Xiaomi smartphones received updated MIUI 12.5 firmware
Xiaomi has started distributing the shell MIUI 12.5 Enhanced. The firmware was introduced along with the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. It will get this version of the software right out of the box, and the "by air" update came to 11 smartphones.
What's new?
MIUI 12.5 Enhanced is an important update to the regular MIUI 12.5, despite the lack of new features. The company has focused on improving system optimization and stability. The manufacturer marks 160 system level improvements along with 224 fixes for firmware issues.
Developers stressed that applications will stay in RAM longer after the update. The firmware has reduced the load on the CPU by 15% and the power consumption drops by 8% after the update is installed. These figures have been achieved due to an advanced system scheduler that can adjust the performance and power consumption of the single-chip system depending on the tasks being performed.
As noted at the beginning, Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will run on MIUI 12.5 right out of the box. "Over the air" updates are received by the following smartphones:
- Xiaomi Mi 11 / Mi 11 Pro / Mi 11 Ultra;
- Xiaomi Mi 10 / 10S / 10 Pro / 10 Ultra;
- Redmi K40 / K40 Pro;
- Redmi K30S / K30 Pro.
The list should expand in the future. For now, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced is only distributed in China. The firmware is built on Android 11.
