In this year due to the U.S. sanctions Huawei was late with release of the flagship Huawei P50 family, so wait for Mate 50 representatives before the beginning of next year, it seems not worth it. But if we believe the sources, the Chinese manufacturer has saved a few trumps for the new products.
What to expect?
One Chinese insider reported that the flagship Huawei Mate 50 will support satellite communication to exchange SMS messages. This will come in handy when there is no access to traditional mobile networks. The company has reportedly chosen the Beidou satellite system for this.
Source also reports that because of this feature the company and had to postpone the release of the Huawei Mate 50. Admittedly, we should not forget that so far this is just a rumor, and not confirmed information. Nevertheless, it proves that Huawei is still trying to innovate in smartphone field and has not abandoned mobile phone business, despite severe restrictions from the US sanctions.
Incidentally, Apple is also expected to add satellite support for the iPhone. With it will allow users to contact emergency services and report incidents such as plane crashes, floods, fires and more. The feature, likely to be called "Emergency Message via Satellite", will be integrated into the app "Messages" as a third option after SMS and iMessage and will be marked with a grey text bubble.
