Will we see Instagram for iPad this year?
It's 2021, and Instagram still doesn't have an iPad app. Instead, users are forced to choose between a poor-quality web app and an iPhone app. In a new Q&A session this weekend, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri touched on the lack of an iPad app, and it doesn't look like that will change anytime soon.
In response to the simple question, "Where's the Instagram app for the iPad?", Mosseri replied,
It would be great to do, but there's a lot to do and not enough people, so it's not in the plans.
At this point, it's hard to tell if the head of Instagram is trolling users by refusing to make an iPad app. It's one of the most frequently requested features of the social network, dating back to before Facebook.
What's worse, Instagram announced earlier this year that users can now post to the social network via the web, but the iPad is not part of that, despite its desktop-class browser. So yes, you can post photos to Instagram from your PC or Mac, but not from your iPad. Weird, but a fact.
