New Intel Core i9 processor was faster than Apple M1 Max
The new, not yet announced Intel processor scored the highest in the popular Geekbench test. The chip outperforms all competitors, including Apple's latest creation, the M1 Max.
The Core i9-12900HK model carries 14 cores (6 large + 8 small) and 20 threads and has a rated frequency of 2.9GHz. The Intel processor received the highest score of any known mobile chip.
Chip scores 1851 points in single-core mode and 13256 points in multi-core mode. In comparison, the Apple M1 Max has slightly lower scores: 1758 and 12490 points respectively.
Apple M1 Max and AMD Ryzen 9 5980HX achieved the closest performance results, but lag behind Intel's newcomer. When the Core i9-12900HK will be officially unveiled and even more so, when it will hit actual devices is unknown.
