Xiaomi 2016 flagship gets Android 12
Enthusiasts continue to release custom software based on the Android 12 operating system for smartphones, which the manufacturer has skimped on the official update. Twitter account XDA Developers reports on the release of a shell based on Android 12 for Xiaomi flagship 2016 release.
What is known
We are talking about Xiaomi Mi 5. It was unveiled in February 2016. The smartphone is equipped with a Snapdragon 820 chip made using 14-nanometer technology. And the single-chip system is available in two modifications: with a frequency of 1.36-1.8 GHz and 1.6-2.15 GHz.
The five-year-old flagship entered the market with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box. It received Android 7 Nougat and Android 8.0 Oreo as part of the proprietary MIUI 10 shell, and that's where the official updates ended.
