Maybe Beyond Good & Evil 2 won't come out at all
According to Tom Henderson of VideGameChronicles (VGC), Ubisoft felt that the game was not in line with the company's future ambitions and the French studio's goals for future games. According to VGC sources, it's only a matter of time before Ubisoft announces that development of Beyond Good and Evil 2 is halted for good.
"Worst of all, as of now, the game doesn't fit into the future ambitions and goals for the upcoming games. The game is called Skull & Bones 2.0 (another highly anticipated Ubisoft game that probably won't see the light of day - note gg), and while the game hasn't been officially written off, some developers believe it's only a matter of time," Henderson wrote on his Twitter page.
Hopefully that's addressed nicely - I hope that other people report on this with their own sources in the near future, to either prove or disprove what I've personally heard from multiple different people.

The story of the sequel to the 2003 classic game is a strange and controversial one. The first information about Beyond Good and Evil 2 appeared a decade ago, and since then Ubisoft has issued extremely sketchy and contradictory information about the game and its status, with brief glimmers of hope.
such as gameplay footage of the game that appeared three years ago, and last year's assurances from Ubisoft themselves that work on the game was on track. However, last year the creator of the original Beyond Good and Evil Michel Ancel, who also worked on the sequel, announced his departure from the studio, which caused another round of rumors. How true Henderson's current claims are, time will tell.
