Meta will give researchers access to components of a new 'human-like' artificial intelligence model that can analyse and complete unfinished images more accurately than existing algorithms.
Here's What We Know
The I-JEPA model uses basic knowledge of the world to fill in missing image fragments, which incorporates human reasoning. According to the developers, this helps the technology avoid the mistakes of generative models, such as drawing hands with extra fingers.
Meta is one of the most active developers of open-source artificial intelligence algorithms. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said sharing models could help the company by driving innovation, identifying security gaps and reducing costs.
