Other Twitter users called the opening credits "ugly", "disgusting" and "repulsive". They lamented the way the company treats visual effects artists and concluded that Marvel has decided to use AI to replace humans.
Secret Invasion director and executive producer Ali Selim has confirmed the use of artificial intelligence. He said the technology reflects some of the themes of the series, in which the Skrulls masquerade as humans, similar to how AI can create a convincing impression of humanity.
That said, Selim did not elaborate on which model the artists used to create the opening credits.
Secret Invasion premiered on June 21, 2023 on the streaming service Disney+.
