The next version of Stable Diffusion will learn how to generate realistic hands

The new version of the Stable Diffusion image generator (SDXL 0.9) will produce more photorealistic images and better hand painting.

Here's What We Know

According to a deleted blog post, SDXL 0.9 "produces massively improved image and composition detail over its predecessor".

The developers describe the new model as "a leap in creative use cases for generative AI imagery." Samples included in the blog post demonstrated progress using the same cues in Stable Diffusion XL beta and SDXL 0.9.

To run SDXL 0.9 locally on a PC, a minimum of 16GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 20 graphics card with 8GB of VRAM will be required. Windows 10/11 and Linux are supported.

An open-source version of SDXL 1.0 will be available in mid-July.
