Snapchat will add ChatGPT capabilities to AR lenses
Snapchat
Snapchat has announced the integration of ChatGPT into its augmented reality lenses. Developers will now be able to create filters that interact with users using chatbots.
Here's What We Know
The beta version of the Lens Studio tool for creating AR lenses now includes the ability to use ChatGPT. In the Lens example, Snap demonstrates a solar system-themed filter where the user asks the question "How far away is Neptune?". After a few seconds, Lens gives the answer.
According to sources, the new feature will also create AI-powered quizzes and random content generators.
The company had earlier integrated ChatGPT into the My AI chatbot, with which users can chat like a friend. The tool was initially exclusive to Snapchat Plus subscribers, but the company made the feature free for everyone this spring.
Developers will also get a 3D mask generation tool and the ability to collaborate on projects. This will expand Snapchat's AR lens functionality based on artificial intelligence technology.
