In the style of Nothing: the creator of the first USB-C iPhone has 3D-printed a transparent case for AirPods Pro

Surely many people remember Ken Pillonel, the guy who redesigned the iPhone X and turned it into the first iPhone with a USB-C port. And he recently Apple, was this the way to go? An enthusiast has redesigned AirPods Pro, making them repairable rather than disposable to make them more repairable. Now Ken has made it to the charging case for the AirPods Pro.

Here's What's New About It

Ken's goal this time around was to redesign the case. He 3D-printed parts out of transparent resin, resulting in a transparent case in the style of Nothing gadgets.

It sounds simple enough, but the enthusiast actually had to sweat. In addition to printing the parts, post-processing was required, such as cleaning the parts, sanding them and applying one or two coats of clear lacquer.

Ken also made some changes, such as replacing the Lightning port with USB-C and using screws instead of glue to make the case easier to repair in the future.
