The Netherlands and Denmark have confirmed that the US will allow the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine after Ukrainian pilots complete a training programme
The Reuters news agency recently reported that the USA would authorise the delivery of fourth-generation F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets to Ukraine from the Netherlands and Denmark. Now there is official confirmation.
Here's What We Know
The information was shared by the foreign ministries of the Netherlands and Denmark. In a letter to the ministries, Washington assured that it would speed up the approval of all the necessary formalities for the transfer of fighters, but after the Ukrainian pilots undergo a training programme. By the way, it should start already this month. The first wave will include eight Ukrainian pilots.

The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a multi-role light fighter aircraft. It was developed by the American company General Dynamics. Due to its versatility and low cost, the F-16 is a success in the international market. It is in service with 24 countries. The F-16 is the most mass-produced fighter of the fourth generation. As of 2009, more than 4,400 have been built and more than 2,500 were in service in 2016.
