Movano Evie: a smart ring that can measure heart rate, blood oxygen levels, temperature, and monitor women's health
There is still a week before the CES 2023 exhibition, which starts on January 5, and many manufacturers have already begun to show their original products. One of these new products is the Movano Evie smart ring, aimed at the female audience.
Here's What We Know
This small ring can replace a smart watch or fitness tracker. Their functions are similar: measuring heart rate, blood oxygen level, respiration rate, body temperature, activity tracking (number of steps walked and calories spent), sleep monitoring and even mood. Since the gadget is designed for a female audience, it also monitors the menstrual cycle and ovulation.
The company plans to get FDA approval for its smart ring.
" The Company plans to file for pulse oximetry metrics after having completed a successful hypoxia trial in October 2022, where accuracy for clinical SpO2 and heart rate commensurate with FDA’s consensus standard was demonstrated. While a few wearables are only FDA cleared for specific software, such as ECG and Afib, Evie is designed per regulatory standards and built in a medical device manufacturing facility that meets ISO13485 and cGMP standards"," Movano officials emphasize.
The ring will go on sale in 2023. It is expected to cost about $300. The manufacturer promises to provide more details about Evie at CES 2023.
