USS Jack H. Lucas (DDG 125) successfully launched an SM-2 (Standard Missile 2) anti-aircraft missile. The test took place on 2 October 2023.

The day after tomorrow, USS Jack H. Lucas (DDG 125) will be inducted into the US Navy. The U.S. Navy called the successful SM-2 launch a major milestone for the warship, which will be commissioned Saturday in Florida before heading to San Diego.
The Flight III series brings a number of structural modifications to provide improved capabilities to the destroyer. DDG 125 received the AN/SPY-6(V)1 air and missile defence radar (AMDR) and the Aegis Baseline 10 combat system.
USS Jack H. Lucas is the 75th Arleigh Burke-class destroyer and the first Flight III ship. It is named in honour of Captain Jacklyn H. Lucas, a Model of Honour recipient.
