Assassin's Creed developer studio Mirage may already be working on a new instalment in the series
Assassin's Creed Mirage was released in early October. The game was developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux studio, which previously only supported colleagues from other divisions of the French publisher.
It's no secret that Mirage was originally developed as an add-on for Valhalla. Probably, this is how Ubisoft Bordeaux got its first independent project, which went beyond DLC and became a full-fledged game.
Apparently, the success of the game about the adventures of young Basim revealed the potential of Ubisoft Bordeaux and the studio was entrusted with even bigger work.
Here's What We Know
Famous screenwriter Rik Godwin said that he got a position at Ubisoft Bordeaux and has already started working on a game in the franchise Assassin's Creed.
As it's the end of my first official week on the job:

I am ridiculously delighted to announce I am now Lead Writer at Ubisoft Bordeaux, working on the Assassin's Creed franchise! pic.twitter.com/F2b2l6nqsk
It's too early to draw conclusions, of course, but if the studio needed a talented screenwriter, it's likely the developers have a big project in mind. And given Ubisoft's big plans for the development of the franchise, there is no doubt that Bordeaux is already starting work on the next game in the Assassin's Creed series.
As a reminder, Ubisoft has about ten games in development for the series!
