A revolution among role-playing games is coming: dataminer has published the first details of the debut project of Rebel Wolves studio, which was founded by former employees of CD Projekt RED

At the beginning of 2022, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz - former vice president of CD Projekt RED, game director of The Witcher 3 and one of the leading developers of Cyberpunk 2077, as well as a number of his colleagues announced the opening of their own studio Rebel Wolves and work on the debut project.

All that was known was that the first project of Rebel Wolves is a role-playing game in the dark fantasy setting, which should be the beginning of a large-scale franchise. Now the first details of the game have become known.

Here's What We Know

Dataminer @Kurakasis collected and analysed all the information available on the web and published it in brief theses:

  • the game (for now) is called Dawnwalker: Origins;
  • the scale of the project is much smaller than The Witcher 3, but there will be more quests in the game;
  • the size of the game is comparable to Blood and Wine add-on for The Witcher 3 (30-40 hours);
  • Dawnwalker: Origins should revolutionise the RPG genre;
  • it will be a single-player game available on PC and consoles;
  • the developers have no plans to add exclusive content for any platform;
  • Rebel Wolves has already trademarked Dawnwalker: Origins;
  • there will be no microtransactions in the game;
  • the project is being developed on Unreal Engine 5;
  • Dawnwalker: Origins is at the alpha-testing stage and at the moment about one hundred employees are working on it.

Recall, the developers of Chinese corporation NetEase became the first major shareholder of Rebel Wolves studio, which was founded by former CD Projekt Red employees from the Chinese corporation NetEase.
