Call of Duty may not appear on Xbox Game Pass service: analyst reveals possible change in Microsoft's strategy
As soon as it became known about Microsoft's intention to acquire Activision Blizzard, most analysts agreed that the corporation intends to release new parts of Call of Duty in the Xbox Game Pass service and thus attract a huge number of users.
However, according to various calculations, the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard is estimated from 69 to 75 billion dollars and, of course, at least part of this money must be compensated somehow.
Here's What We Know
Timdog insider conducted his own analysis and reported that Call of Duty may not appear in Xbox Game Pass at all, because even if gamers will pay $10 per month for a subscription just for Call of Duty, it will not cover a small part of the money spent, so it is much more logical to sell the popular shooter for the full price - $70. Although even in this case, the cost of the acquisition Activision Blizzard will not be covered soon.
More and more insider information about the new strategy of Microsoft's gaming division is appearing on the web, according to which the projects of Xbox studios will be released on all platforms, including PlayStation and Nintendo. Timdog suggests that if new games, including Call of Duty, will appear on Xbox Game Pass, it could be 6-9 months after the games release, at the same time as the release on competitors' consoles.
I can see a world where gamepass doesn't come day one but comes to the platform when it hits third party aka Sony and Switch 6 months down the line 9 months down the line. Like I said. Things are changing and these are some things I can see happening. Doesn't mean it will.... https://t.co/Ql29E3lDo6

Well, such logic of Timdog is understandable and reasonable and Xbox may well go that way. We'll find out officially next week when Xbox CEO Phil Spencer speaks about it.
We're listening and we hear you. We've been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.
