In early 2022 journalist Tom Henderson shared some news about Dead Island 2 - at the time it was speculated that the zombie action game could be released this year. Now Henderson, citing his own sources updated information - it seems that the release still won't happen before 2023.
Here's what the insider writes:
- According to sources, Dead Island 2 is scheduled to be re-released in 2022. No date is known, but insiders expect news at The Game Awards later in the year.
- The slant in Dead Island 2 is on co-op -- several play sessions at Duambuster Studios were dedicated to co-op play.
- Characters from past episodes will apparently not be present. A total of five or six characters are planned (probably the journalist was referring to the protagonists).
- Several new sources confirmed the information that Henderson published earlier:
- Dead Island 2 is in "proper condition. One anonymous source, who has already sampled the sequel, even called it "probably the most anticipated game."
- Events in the second part will unfold in several locations, including Hollywood and San Francisco.
Since Dead Island 2 has not been officially introduced, the action thriller has no confirmed launch date and platform list.
