Bloomberg: development of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake transferred to Eastern European studio Saber Interactive
Last year at the PlayStation Showcase the remake of the famous role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was announced. Then the audience was presented with a short teaser and was informed that the development is being done by the Aspyr Media studio, and one of the Saber Interactive studios is helping it. After that, the information that the project's development is at a standstill began to appear online more and more often.
It seems that the way out of this difficult situation has been found. Journalist Jason Schreier from S has received information that Embracer Group holding company removed Aspyr from the work on the KotOR remake and now the game's development is handled by an Eastern European division of Saber Interactive. It is known that in Eastern Europe, the company has studios in Minsk and St. Petersburg, but given the geopolitical circumstances, it seems doubtful to transfer the development of the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to Belarus or Russia.
Release date for the updated Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remains unknown, but in the next two or three years, the game is clearly not worth waiting for.
Recently, it was reported that in September, there will be another PlayStation Showcase, probably there will be details about the development of the remake.
