Anime Saves Cyberpunk: Interest in Cyberpunk 2077 surged after the release of the Edgerunners series

It seems that things are gradually getting better for the scandalous game Cyberpunk 2077. Unsuccessful release of the most anticipated project of the last time alienated most of the players. And the developers from CD Projekt RED in no hurry to remedy the situation with updates and additions.

And finally, the popularity of Cyberpunk 2077 began to grow again.

Here's What We Know

RPG popularity growth was due to several factors:

  1. The release of the animated series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
  2. Release of thematic update 1.6 with elements from the anime Edgerunners.
  3. Announcement of a major story addition Phantom Liberty.

All this led to an increase in the number of simultaneous players on Steam. According to the resource SteamDB during the last day the maximum number of players is close to 50,000, while only recently this figure rarely reached 15,000. It's certainly not a million people on release, but at the moment Cyberpunk 2077 is the most popular single-player game, ahead of such hits as Elden Ring, Skyrim, RDR2 and The Witcher 3. Polish game ahead of only a strategy game Total War: Warhammer III, but because it provides network modes, it is not quite correct to compare these games.
