2K launcher can negatively affect the performance of Marvel's Midnight Suns, but it can be fixed
More and more players have begun to report improved performance in Marvel's Midnight Suns after deactivating the 2K launcher that launches the game.
Here's What We Know
This was first reported by the Rock Paper Shotgun website. It noticed that turning off the 2K program, which runs during the start of the game, can positively affect the frame rate. Users on Reddit have tested the life hack and for some, the increase in frame rate was 10+ fps, which can be very noticeable, especially if you do not have a very powerful PC and before that it was 25-30 frames per second. If you also decided to try it, then Steam has a great guide on how to do it.
The authors from PC Gamer also decided to test the life hack for veracity. Their average frame rate increased from 50 to 55, and the minimum from 4 to 17 fps at 1440p resolution with ray tracing enabled on GeForce RTX 3080TI. They also noted that the game in general began to behave better, although this is not a super increase, since everything was very good before. Although, if you read the posts of users on Reddit, then disabling the launcher directly "revived" the game.
Why exactly this happens - no one knows. Marvel's Midnight Suns is not the first 2K game with the problem of performance degradation in the launcher - earlier users complained about similar problems in Mafia, XCom and Civilization VI.
