Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment has released an interesting video about the process of working on the mystical thriller Alan Wake 2.

Here's What We Know

Over the years, a lot of new collaborators have joined the development team, who were once heavily influenced by the first part of Alan Wake. Some of them even considered the game as an adaptation of Stephen King's novels, so atmosphere and plot of the horror game resonate with the works of the American author.

And now, when creating the sequel, the developers want to not only repeat the success of the first part of the game, but also to surpass it.

It is important for Remedy to prove that they know how to make high quality games in Finland, so they have used all the latest technologies and put their skills to 100% use. In addition, they have purposefully added small elements of Finnish flavour to introduce gamers to their culture.

Screenwriter and Remedy creative director Sam Lake said that he aims to convey in the story all the nuances of a creative person's experiences and the challenges that writers face in their work.

Despite their long history and years of creativity, the Remedy team have only now realised that they have found their niche. Alan Wake 2 is, in their opinion, the most exciting and impressive game they've created. And Sam Lake called Alan Wake 2 the game of his dreams.

Alan Wake II will be released on October 17 on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
