A new patch has been released for Overwatch 2, bringing improvements to On Fire, the Event Centre, and rebalancing for some characters
Summer games are coming to life in the world of Overwatch 2 with the return of Lucioball and the new Winston's Beach Volleyball mode. Players will have the opportunity to complete new challenges to obtain the epic Doomfist skin, but the mid-season patch also includes several tweaks, features, and balance changes.
Here's What We Know
First up is On Fire, which returns with the fifth season. Now you will need to make more efforts to get this status, and when you are not in the "on fire" state, the score decreases faster. There is also a new central event hub where players can access challenges, rewards and event modes directly from the main menu.
In the competitive mode, a new team queue option has been introduced, allowing you to form teams of up to five players without rank restrictions. It's still limited to two support heroes, two damage heroes, and one tank, but now players must define their roles in the match instead of standing in a queue.
In terms of hero upgrades, Orisa's Fortify skill now reduces damage taken by 50% instead of 40%. Ravenous Vortex in Ramattra now passes through heroes, but can be blocked by barriers. Reinhardt's Barrier Field now has 1400 HP, and Soldier 76 has received improvements to his heavy pulse rifle, spiral missiles, and biotic field.
Of course, these are not all the innovations, but if you want to learn more about the updates, you can do so here.
