The FTC isn't giving up and has appealed the court's ruling on the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard
The other day a US court ruled that the merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard complies with the law and does not harm the gaming industry. This ruling allows Microsoft to finalise the deal, which should be done by 18 July.
However, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is not giving up.
Here's What We Know
The FTC has appealed the court's decision and hopes to issue a second temporary injunction against the deal to keep the proceedings moving forward.
Microsoft president Brad Smith is outraged and has expressed the opinion that the FTC is "engaged in a deliberately weak case and his company will continue to oppose their actions."
Microsoft president Brad Smith on the FTC's appeal: "We're disappointed that the FTC is continuing to pursue what has become a demonstrably weak case, and we will oppose further efforts to delay the ability to move forward."
