SEGA is considering remaking old Sonic games in parallel with the development of new projects
In a recent interview with Famitsu, SEGA President and COO Yukio Sugino said that the company plans to "reboot" and "remake" even more of its classic Sonic games.
Here's What We Know
Sugino acknowledged that "in parallel" with the development of new projects, the developers are also considering the possibility of remaking old Sonic titles as part of SEGA's flagship series.
Sega, the maker of Sonic the Hedgehog, is planning to reboot and remake even more of its classic Sonic games.
"Of course we have to do new things, but not all IPs are the same for new releases and reboots. For each IP, we will choose which method is appropriate at this time, deciding 'this method is best for this IP. Sonic is Sega's flagship IP, and we are considering reboots and remakes in parallel with new titles"
