Apple considers cancelling folding iPads due to display issues
It is reported that Apple may stop developing foldable iPads due to problems with creating crease-free displays.
Here's What We Know
Bloomberg reports that the company continues to explore the possibilities of folding design, but has not yet found an effective solution to this key problem.
Journalist Mark Gurman said that Apple is considering cancelling the project if it cannot overcome the difficulties with foldable screens. He also pointed to the changed release date and noted that a similar device may appear only in the first half of 2027.
Current foldable devices on the market, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Google Pixel Fold, have folds in the display, but they are becoming less noticeable with each generation. Other issues, such as lack of dust resistance and shortcomings in low-cost foldable screens, remain an issue to be addressed.
