Netflix has officially announced an animated series based on Stranger Things. The spin-off will take place in 1980s Tokyo

Streaming channel Netflix has officially confirmed what everyone has known for some time: an animated series based on Stranger Things is in development.

Here's What We Know

The animated series will be called Stranger Things Tokyo and, as one of its creators said earlier, will be about two Japanese twin brothers who encounter supernatural phenomena in '80s Tokyo.

In addition to the Duffer brothers, the series will also feature director and game designer Eric Robles, creator of the animated series Fanboy & Chum Chum and Glitch Techs.

Stranger Things Tokyo release date is currently unknown.
