Marvel's horror will go colour: The studio will re-release 'Werewolf by Night' in colour in time for Halloween
Despite the fact that Halloween is still over a month away, Disney is already gearing up for the spooky event with a colour version of Marvel's short film "Werewolf by Night".
Here's What We Know
"Werewolf by Night" was directed by Michael Giacchino and released specifically for Halloween on the Disney+ platform. It was originally released in black and white last October. Now, according to a press release, the re-release of the short film will now be "presented in vibrant colours".
"Werewolf by Night" by Marvel Studios - conceived as a tribute to Universal's classic monster movies that originally appeared in the 1930s and '40s ("Dracula," "Frankenstein"). The film features retro special effects like smoke blowing and broken mirrors, which is completely out of character with the classic Marvel films.
It's about a group of monster hunters, called the Sinister Temple of Bloodstone, who gather on the "darkest and gloomiest night of the year", after the death of their leader. In the original horror film, the plot takes an unexpected turn and the group has to engage in a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful artefact, which ultimately leads to a dangerous monster.
When We Can Expect It
The retro horror game is scheduled for a colour release on October 20 on Disney+.
