James Cameron reveals new details about Avatar 3: time travel for six years and Kate Winslet's return
Director James Cameron has shared fresh details about the upcoming "Avatar 3", which promises to be exciting in the best sense of the word.
Here's What We Know
Firstly, Cameron, has officially confirmed that audience favourite, Kate Winslet, will be returning to her role. And even more, the actress will go to the "shamanic" courses that would better feel and understand the specifics of the rituals.
Winslet is so dedicated to her work that she learnt to hold her breath for more than seven minutes for "Avatar 2", so it's no surprise that she's immersing herself back into her character to the max for the third instalment.
According to Cameron, Winslet "went to school" to learn from "practising husband and wife shamans" to learn techniques for the third film. - "When you see her [Winslet] doing that purification ritual to try to revive Kitty in the film and some of the stuff that she's going to do in movie three, that's based on actual practice" he commented.
Secondly, Cameron revealed that the third instalment of the franchise will involve a significant time travel of 6 years.
"We did the capture on three and the live-action photography on three as an intermingled production with [Avatar: The Way of Water], and we even did part of movie four because our young characters are all going to have a big time jump in movie four" the director said.
He added: "We see them and then we go away for six years and we come back. And so the part where we come back is the part we haven't shot yet. So we'll start on that after three is released.".
When We Can Expect It
"Avatar 3" is scheduled to be released on 19 December 2025.
