The third season of Good Omens has been officially confirmed and will be based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's idea, which originated almost 35 years ago
It's being reported that the third season of Good Omens, which has just been officially confirmed, will be the last for the series.
Here's What We Know
Prime Video has announced that it intends to release a third season, but it's still unknown when and in what timeframe that will happen. But importantly, the basis for this season will be the original conversation between the story's authors Neil Gaiman and the late Sir Terry Pratchett, which took place nearly 35 years ago.
"I'm so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006. Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end" - Gaiman stated in his message.
The first season of Good Omens is based on the hugely popular 1990 book written by both Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. The second season, released earlier this year, was intended as a kind of link between the original material and their duo's intentions years ago.
Gaiman himself has said that in theory, a third season has been around for a long time, but that he felt it was impossible to jump from the first season straight into the story of the third.
Series Overview
Gaiman described the final season as follows: "In the third season, we will once again face the end of the world. Armageddon's plans go awry. Only Crowley and Aziraphale, working together, can try to fix it. And they're not talking."
