Calling Pandora: Avatar 4 will reportedly start filming within a month and it's going to be epic!
Sam Worthington, who plays the role of Jake Sully in director James Cameron's sci-fi saga, has revealed that filming on the fourth instalment of 'Avatar' will resume in a month's time and promised that "It's bigger than you can imagine".
Here's What We Know
Yes, we probably won't see "Avatar 4" until 2029, but the information that it's already being actively worked on is definitely heartwarming for fans.
"it's bigger than you can imagine", Worthington revealed, hinting at the scale of the fourth film in the franchise.
Not much is known about "Avatar 4" at this point, other than that it will be a direct sequel to "Avatar 3," which went into post-production last year. Cameron confirmed in November 2023 that filming is complete, but the team is entering a "very intense two years of post-production" before release on Christmas Day 2025. Despite the third instalment having already completed filming, it still hasn't been given a definitive title.
It has been said that "Avatar 3" will continue the epic story of the Navi and Pandora, as well as introduce two new Navi cultures, including the Fire Tribe and another unconfirmed group. Furthermore, the plot of the third film will move forward 6 years after the events of "The Way of Water."
The return of the original cast in their original roles is also promised, such as Worthington, Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri and Kate Winslet as Ronal.
When We Can Expect It
"Avatar 4" will be released in 2029. "Avatar 3" will hit screens on 19 December 2025.
