The director of "Shazam!" and "Annabelle: Creation" will create a film based on the PlayStation game "Until Dawn"

It is reported that the horror game "Until Dawn" will get a live-action film adaptation. David F. Sandberg, the director of "Shazam!" and "Annabelle: Creation" is appointed as a director.

Here's What We Know

Gary Dauberman will take over writing the screenplay.

Sandberg and Dauberman previously collaborated on "Annabelle: Creation" but, and each individually, a true professional in the horror genre. Sandberg made his film directing debut in 2016 with the horror film "Lights Out." Doberman has written screenplays for films such as "Annabelle," "The Nun" and "Annabelle Comes Home" (which he also set to direct), and collaborated on "It" and "It: Chapter Two." He was also chosen to direct "Salem's Lot," a new film adaptation of Stephen King's acclaimed novel.

Given the success of this team, the Until Dawn film adaptation seems to be in good hands.

Until Dawn premiered in 2015. It is a dramatic horror video game structured like an interactive horror film. Players can make decisions that change the course of the story and the outcome of the entire game, including who survives and who dies.

Here's What The Movie Is About

Exactly what plot the film will follow is being kept secret for now. Screen Gems describes the film as "R-rated love letter to the horror genre, centering on an ensemble cast."

When We Can Expect It

A release date for Until Dawn has not yet been announced.
