A Ukrainian SHARK drone helped the HIMARS missile system destroy a 9A317M self-propelled firing unit of the Russian Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system
A few hours ago, we wrote about the role of the Ukrainian-made SHARK drone in destroying five components of the Russian Buk surface-to-air missile system. Since then, interesting details have emerged.
Here's What We Know
Analysts @UAWeapons confirmed the assumption that the strikes used a high-precision GMLRS munition for HIMARS and MLRS with a maximum launch range of about 80 kilometres. But the type of weapon is not the most important thing.
#Ukraine: In #Zaporizhzhzhia Oblast, an uncommon and modern Russian 9A317M TELAR of the Buk-M3 air defence system was taken out of action by a GMLRS strike of the Ukrainian army, along with a 9A316/9A39M1 TEL and another vehicle from a Buk AD system being destroyed. pic.twitter.com/Xp70QVAla3

According to analysts, the Ukrainian Defence Forces destroyed a 9A317M self-propelled firing unit of the Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system. The air defence system itself was adopted for service in the middle of the last decade.
The experts also managed to establish that the 9A316 or 9A39M1 launcher and loader was hit. The former is part of the Buk-M1 surface-to-air missile system, while the latter is used in the newer Buk-M2 system.
