A familiar strategy in a new setting: critics welcomed Total War: Pharaoh, but noted the lack of new ideas
Today will be the release of historical strategy Total War: Pharaoh from Creative Assembly studio.
Before buying the game it will not be superfluous to read the critics' reviews.
Here's What We Know
In general, the experts were satisfied with Total War: Pharaoh. They noted the excellent technical performance, clearly expressed atmosphere of Ancient Egypt and fascinating gameplay.
However, the reviewers unanimously stated that there is nothing new in Pharaoh, and it is still the same Total War, but in a different setting. The game is still very variable in terms of battle tactics and overall strategy, but almost all of its elements have been in other instalments of the series.
As a result, Total War: Pharaoh received good scores on aggregators:
- 78 points - Opencritic, with 78% recommendations;
- 76 points - Metacritic.
Recall, Total War: Pharaoh will be released today on Steam, and in early 2024 the game will appear in the Epic Games Store.
