Baldur's Gate 3's score on Metacritic was underestimated by bots that gave it only zeroes: the situation has already been fixed

Baldur's Gate 3 is one of the best games of 2023. Larian managed to create a game that will not be forgotten in a year, but not everyone liked this success. Recently, the project has been massively underestimated on Metacritic, even though more than 2 months have passed since the release.

Here's What We Know

Reddit noticed that accounts with strange nicknames, such as "aghfg", "u5puu", and others, were created on the site. They all gave the game a 0, and wrote only one letter or number in their reviews. These reviews are no longer available. Probably, the automatic system on the website realised that it was a bot attack and started deleting everything. Currently, Baldur's Gate 3 has 96 points from critics and 8.9 points from players on Metacritic. The game is also included in the Metacritic Must-Play rating.

This once again suggests that verification is needed to avoid such stories. For example, in the PlayStation Store, players can give a rating if they have purchased or at least completed a game. Of course, it is much more difficult to implement this on a third-party resource where there are games available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch, but how many stories have we seen where there is a massive attack on a game where everyone is giving ones and zeros.
