Apex Legends developers released a new trailer for the game, showing the upcoming event from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
The first major event in Apex Legends this year will take place from 9 to 30 January and will be timed to coincide with Square Enix's Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Instead of the usual battle royale, the game will feature the Takeover mode, during which players will be able to use Materia Hop-Ups, Buster Sword R2R5, and other elements. The developers recently released a trailer for the event to give players an idea of what it will look like:
Here's What We Know
The Buster Sword can be used not only for light and heavy attacks, but also for jerking and blocking enemy attacks to reduce the damage received. Each tactical action adds to the Limit Break scale so that players can use Omnislash on their enemies. Materia Hop-Ups appear randomly and with the help of cactus cats, providing passive effects such as health restoration for damage, enemy health analysis, and more.
For participating in the event, players can collect 36 cosmetic items, including stickers, iconic skins for Horizon and Newcastle, as well as the Buster Sword R5 as a cosmetic accessory for mythical melee that can be used by all characters. This item has no special effects or skills, but looks elegant.
After collecting all the cosmetic content, players will receive the One-Winged Angel Death Box, which provides a new cosmetic look available for any character.
