Digital retailer GOG has announced a partnership with Amazon's cloud gaming service Luna
Digital retailer GOG has announced a surprise collaboration.
Here's What We Know
The Polish service, which is owned by CD Projekt, is launching a collaboration with cloud gaming service Amazon Luna.
As part of the collaboration, users will be able to combine libraries in GOG and Amazon Luna, and in case a certain game is available on both platforms, it is possible to synchronise progress and run it both there and there.
Games bought in Luna will be automatically added to the GOG library (if they are listed in the shop's catalogue), and all GOG Galaxy functionality will be available when playing through Luna.
Amazon Luna will allow you to run games from GOG even on weak computers and mobile devices, but it requires a stable internet connection and a subscription to Luna+ or Amazon Prime.
In turn, games in GOG will remain DRM-protected and will still be able to run offline and, in general, nothing will change for GOG users on PC.
It is not yet known when the co-operation will start, but GOG promises to start it soon.
